Had Spotting, No Period, Sore Breasts. Was On Depo Injection. Taking Vitex And Prenatal Supplements. What Is Going On?

Hi, I used the depo injection for 13 years and had my last injection 10th April. I've had some spotting on and off but no period. My breasts are incredibly sore, I've been cramping and I constantly feel that my period is coming but it doesn't. Is there any way to speed this process up? I'm taking vitex, dong quai, evening primrose and prenatal supplements.
Thanks

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

Thanks for your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

I suspect your problem to be due to hormone changes.

My advise is to check the following hormones.
1. Estradiol levels
2. Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH level)
3. Luteinizing hormone (LH level)
4. Prolactin level
5. Serum hormone levels such as testosterone levels
6. Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).

In addition please do abdominal ultrasound to rule out Polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Consider doing hysterosonogram.

If all the hormones and abdominal investigations are normal, go for diagnostic laproscopy and CT and MRI Brain to rule out any Brain and Pitutary tumours.

Hope this helps.
Please reply for further queries.
Wishing you good health.

Hello my dear,

You are experiencing one of the side effects of depo injection: no periods (just spotting).

The only way to make your periods get back again is through stop using the shot; once you stop taking it, your periods would be back again.

Take care my dear!
