Had Stuffy Nose, Sore Throat, Headache, Now Yellow Scab In Nostril. Used Nasal Drops, Plucked, Same. Help?

Hi,
I have recently had a cold (stuffy nose, sore throat, headache.) and I have noticed a yellow scab in my right nostril. I've gotten the same thing in the past, but I think it just sort of went away. Whenever I pick it and remove it because of the uncomfortable feeling, it just comes back in about 10-15 minutes. It also formed into 2 different scabs, one larger than the other but still the same thing.
When I picked the scab off, something like a yellow liquid or pus-type substance filled its place and I'm assuming created the next scab.
Is there something that can make the uncomfortable feeling go away, or remove it altogether?
I also put some vaseline to moisture it, and I used nasal drops while I was sick.
Thanks for your time! Sorry if it was a little confusing.

Welcome to HCM.
Stuffy nose with yellow scab, sore throat, headache indicates bacterial upper respiratory tract infection.
You have to take complete course of proper antibiotic like amoxy/clave 625.
Take nsaid with decongestant to subside headache, stuffy nose.
Steam inhalation will be helpful.
You can apply any good moisturizer.

General Surgeon Dr. M Y Shareef's  Response
Hi !Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

From your history, it seems that you had a bacterial nasal infection which could have followed a viral upper respiratory infection. If I would have been your doctor, I would have advised you not to poke/pick your nose to avoid dissemination of the infection, and prescribed for you an antibiotic, a decongestant drug with an anti allergic, and simple steam inhalation about two to three times a day , which might relieve your symptoms.

In case of no relief/increase in intensity of symptoms, you should consult a ENT specialist in your area to exclude any chance of a concurrent sinus infection.

Thanks for using healthcaremagic for query on your health. Wishing you an early recovery.
