Had Surgery For Varicocele. Reddish Swollen Line On The Incision Site. Anything To Be Concerned?

Hi Dr.
Seven months ago I had a surgery for my Varicocele. Now I am completely recovered and fine. However, the vestige of my surgery stitch is still appearing like a red swollen line. My surgeon says this is phenomenon is a very common trait of some patients' skin and there is nothing to do about it.
Would you mind if I asked you the name of this problem and any possible treatment for removing the trace?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM.Thank you for your query.
It can be normal sign of wound healing bit you must be sure that there is no wound infection. If this is progressive redness with pain, swelling and pus formation it can be infection and this must be treated by antibiotics. It is uncommon for infection to develop after 6 months but is possible. If you don have these symptoms it can be just the way your skin heals. WIsh you good health
