Had Surgery In Eye Lid, Eye Itching, Swelling, White Sheet Discharge. What Does This Mean?
My 85 year old sister had some kinda surgery on her eye lid I believe about 10 days ago then the eye began to itch and swell....today I got this from her WEIRD THING........LOOKED LIKE STRING HANGING INSIDE TOP EYELID....GRITTED MY TEETH.LIFTED LID PULLED ON “STRING” AND A SHEET OF WHITE(I THOUGHT IT WAS PAPER) YUCK CAME OUT.........THE PAIN AND ITCHING HAS STOPPED BUT THE SWELLING IS STILL THERE She wasn't to wait until Monday when her Dr is in and I am worried
It could because of infection at the site of surgery which is causing the discharge & inflammation.... Because she is only 10days since surgery should be still antibiotic eye drops & had had a course of oral antibiotics. She needs to see her doctor to rule out infection.
