Welcome to health care magic!
I have gone through your question and it says that you were on
olanzapine long back for few months, but since then you have gained fat/ weight around abdominal area.
You are almost right in saying that olanzapine causes weight gain, I have seen this in many patients on this drug. But almost equally I have seen patients loosing this extra weight by maintaining healthy life style.
What I would recommend you if I had been your doctor:
- you should start going for walks, preferably brisk walking, daily for atlest half an hour
-do
abdominal exercises at home, one can learn them from a gym or
yoga master
- avoid oily /junk food for some time
- increase amount of vegetables in your diet, and reducing starch and sugar
-taking warm water with lemon surely helps in cutting abdominal weight.
The above said measures are very effective in reducing fat dispositions round abdomens even though related to Olanzapine, if practiced religiously for some time.
I would have also asked you to get your blood
lipid profile, and sugar levels done to rule out other causes of weight gain which may need medicines.
Hope this answer helps you in getting rid of the extra weight.
Feel free to ask more regarding this.
