Had Thyroidectomy With Goiter Removed. Have Sclerosis, Diabetes, Anemia, Ulcer, blood Transfusion. Need To Be Worried?
I JUST HAD A THYROIDECTOMY WITH A HUGE GOITER REMOVED AUG.21ST. THEY FOUND MICROSCOPIC AMOUNTS OF CANCER AND SAID THEY HAVE IT ALL AND NOT TO WORRY. I AM ON 175 MG? OF SYNTHROID A DAY. I ALSO HAVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, DIABETES, ANEMIA-LOST HALF MY BLOOD PAST 2 JULYS TO GAVE-BLEEDING IN STOMACH.AND WAS JUST TOLD I HAD A ULCER LAST YEAR. HAVE HAD 2 BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS THRU THIS. ANY WAY-I HAVE BEEN GETTING SO SICK AFTER TAKING SYNTHROID EVERYDAY. I TAKE IT AT 5 AM AND HAVE NOTHING TO EAT FOR AT LEAST 2 OR MORE HOURS, AS I AM ON SO MANY MEDICATIONS. SHOULD I BE WORRIED? STOMACH IS HURTING SO BAD.
Synthroid, like all other medications, has potential side effects. It is not , however, not normally associated with abdominal pain.
With a previous history of an ulcer in the stomach, it is possible that this is the cause of your stomach pain. It would be best to visit your doctor for an assessment regarding this possibility.
Investigations such as endoscopy or barium studies may be needed.
I hope this helps
