Had Tonsillectomy And Adenoidectomy, No Fever, Severely Red Cheeks. Taken Tylenol With Codeine. Should I Be Concerned?
My 10 year old son is 3 days s/p tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. He has no fever, except that his cheeks are severely red with a reading of 102 with a digital forehead thermometer. Yesterday, His surgeon took him off Tylenol with codeine just in case it was a reaction to the codeine. This issue did not resolve. What causes this and should we be concerned?
Hello,
You must be on antibiotic , should continue with that.
You can take a antihistaminic just one will resolve the problem if it is a allergic response .
For pain you should take paracetamol and nothing else.Any inflammatory will increase the chances of bleeding.
Paracetamol is a safer drug.
Give adequate fluids to drink
