Had Two Blockage In Heart Which Is Now Stable After The Treatment. Shall I Go For By-pass Surgery Or Continue With Medicines?
My mom had suffered from the heart disease before two years, she had two blokage in her heart but now she is under treatment and also she is in stable. I just wana to confirm for the second opinion that is everything ok, if she is taking the medicine or shall i go for bY-pass surgery.
I admire your positive outlook. It is a quite relevant question the question can not be answered in just one sentence or one word. we have to review your mother's total clinical profile along with the angiogram report. The proper decision can only be taken after that. If your mother is not symptomatic, and is quite ok on medications, you may continue with that. however, if she feels breathlessness or chest pain in her ordinary daily activities or on mild exertion, I think she needs intervention. If she is not diabetic or her heart function(ejection fraction) is not very low, coronary angioplasty is also an option in suitable arteries. Bypass surgery can be done in case her heart function(ejection fraction) is low, she is diabetic or her coronary artery anatomy are nor suitable for angioplasty. You should consult a cardiologist and follow-up with him on regular basis. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
