Had Unprotected Sex. Abnormal Bleeding, Tiredness, Sleepiness. Need For Doctor?
Hi Doctor, I had unprotected sex around Sept 25-26-27 and consumed ipill afterwards; must be a little more than 72 hours in the whole. After a week I had my periods. A little darker and less flow than usual. After 5-6 days the flow reduced drastically making it look as if it was over. We had sex again and figured out I was still spotting. After two days, I started bleeding profusely again. Its oct 19 th and I'm still bleeding. And alot more tired and sleepy. Is it abnormal? Will it ease after a couple of days? Should I consult a gynaecologist? Ps: I had been travelling a lot and carrying and moving luggages weighing around 100 kg around. Hope none of those triggered the bleeding.
The bleeding is because of the pill you have taken, and I would advise bed rest as it should subside in a while. You could consult a gynecologist as you mentioned this to be quite profuse.
Also, for your information, the pill if taken after 72 hours might not be effective at all. So please be sure to check your pregnsncy status if you did not get your period since the sexual event. And do make sure to take the pill best within 24 hours of the sexual contact.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
