Thanks for contacting HCM. Dear patient your
fatigue and sleepiness is most likely due to fluctuating levels of blood sugar and BP. To correct this you need to avoid fluctuations in their levels. Following steps need to be followed to control the blood sugar and fluctuations in its levels-
1. Get a proper diet chart made and follow it religiously. Eat frequent smaller meals, as this will help control rapid rise and fall in blood sugar levels and thus avoid the fluctuations. Remember most important means of controlling blood sugar is DIET.
2. Next step is regular exercise, atleast for 30 mins a day. For you best exercise is walking. Always eat something lite before exercising like few almonds or roasted grams or a cup of sugar free skimmed milk.
When correctly applied most of the diabetics get their sugar controlled by diet and exercise alone and do not require medicine. If diet and exercise fail to control blood
glucose levels then go to third step
3. this means addition of appropriate
antidiabetic drug.
you are probably taking medicines without really following steps 1 and 2 and thats why a poor control and resultant fatigue and sleepiness.
As you have
diabetes and BP, you should get your self investigated thoroughly,
you should get an E.C.G. done, an cardiac colour doppler done and an
carotid artery colour doppler done to rule out blockages and heart damage.
