Had Unprotected Sex. Scraped Penis. Having Inflammed Lymph Nodes. HIV Infection?
Hello, I received unprotected oral sex from an aquaintance of unknown status 5 days ago. While performing the act she scraped my penis. I saw no evidence of blood in her mouth; however, I now have inflamed lymph nodes and I m starting to worry it may be from a possible HIV infection. Is this possible? Should I get tested? Thank you.
Transmission of HIV through oral sex is very very remote possibility as the viral concentration in saliva is very low and not adequate to cause an infection and also saliva contains some enzyme called as Lysozyme which is inimical to HIV. You need not worry about her scrapped your penis and it is not infectious.
If the lady has gum infection and if her saliva is contaminated with blood and if she is HIV positive then there may be a chance of getting infection and that also very remote only.
But it is advisable to have a HIV test after 12 weeks to clear our doubts and it is always good for us to have a protected sex even for oral sex.
Good luck to you.
