Hi,
It is very rare for
pregnancy to occur if pills have been taken regularly.
But since you have never missed your periods earlier, as a precautionary measure, pregnancy needs to be ruled out.
The earliest possible day when your urine test would be positive is at least 3 weeks after the unprotected sex act.
Another reason for the missed period may be the
stress of pregnancy that is causing delay in periods.
So I suggest that you stop the pills and use a condom or other non medicinal method for the next month if possible. Wait for the periods and they will most likely be delayed by a few more days. If the periods come, start the pill again from day 2 or 3 and there is no need to use the condoms.
If the periods do not come, do a urine pregnancy test after three weeks from the sexual act while continuing to use other
contraceptive method like condom.
If the test is negative, you may start the pill, and use condom for next 7 days after starting the pill. After that you do not need any additional method.
Hope this was helpful. Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
