Had Unprotected Sex, Thick/jelly Like Discharge, Fatigued, Nauseous. Is It Infection/std/pregnancy? Suggest
Hi, I had unprotected sex 9 days ago and lately I've had this clear thick/jelly like discharge and it has no odor. Ive never had discharge like this before. I've also been very fatigued, nauseous , and have some pressure type feeling in my lower abdomen/ pelvic region. Could it be an infection/std/pregnancy? What should I do about this? Should I schedule to see my Gyn doctor? What test should be done? Thanks for any insight.
Hi, Welcome to HCM, After going through your history, you had unprotected sex 9 days back, you should understand pregnancy depends on ovulation which takes place approximately 14 days before the expected date of next period. You can consult a Gynecologist if you date is near or passed then take a urine pregnancy test if positive symptoms could be due to pregnancy. If there is discharge which is foul smelling and fishy it could be infection which can be detected and treated easily. First rule out pregnancy,by Beta HCG in blood and if required a transvaginal ultrasonography. Please take care in future as practice safe sex prevents not only unwanted pregnancies also protects from sexually transmitted diseases. Take care Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
