Hi dear

Welcome to the platform of Health Care Magic.

Dear friend you are diagnosed as a case of Tuberculosis. And you responded well with in one month of Anti tubercular drugs. which further confirms that the diagnosis is correct.

Treatment for the TB is of long duration. It varies from six months to 18 months depending about the type of lesion the patient has.

You are supposed to be regular in touch with your physician and continue to take ATT regularly with out break as advised by the physician.

Dose (according to the weight of the patient) and duration of the ATT is very important to completely eradicate the disease.

Hope you will restart the treatment with the consultation of the physician to get cured.

Incomplete course and under dose drugs raise the possibility of developing Resistant and MDR cases.

Hope the query is answered and useful to you,

Thanks

Psychiatrist Dr. Anjana Rao Kavoor's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

AKT4 is to treat tuberculosis. If fibro cavitatory changes are seen on X ray, all tests for TB must be done and then you must be started on AKT4 once TB diagnosis is confirmed.

AKT4 is to be taken for 9-12 months and no where is it written that 30 days course is sufficient.

I suggest you to get CT scan chest done and discuss your problem with pulmonologist (TB specialist).

Hope this helps

You should STOP SMOKING & DRINKING...
You should consult a Pulmonologist (Lung / TB specialist) – proper combination of drugs, dose and duration is a must for complete cure.
