Hello!
Thanks for writing to us.
Pus cells of 12-16 and presence of
trichomonas vaginalis organism in urine indicates you have urethritis or vaginal
trichomoniasis.Rest of the findings in report are supportive of
urinary tract infection.
Trichomonas vaginalis, a
parasitic infection and is the etiologic agent of trichomoniasis.
Trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection of the urogenital tract, is a common cause of vaginitis in women, while men with this infection can display symptoms of urethritis.
'Frothy', malodorous, greenish
vaginal discharge is characteristic of trichomoniasis.
This infection needs to be treated with metronidazole or tinidazole.
Metronidazole would normally be prescribed for a 7 day period and Tinidazole as a two day course, which appears to have a higher success rate than the single dose option.
Medication should be prescribed to any sexual partner as well because they may be asymptomatic carriers.
You can consult with gynacologist for clinical examination and treatment.
Hope this could help you.
Wish you good health.
