Hello,
Thanks for posting your query,
It is possible that the HCG diet drops could have lead to
hormonal imbalance (of gonadotrophic hormones such as estrogene and
progesterone) which could have lead to uterine
hyperplasia but do not forget that one of the major risk factors of hyperplasia is having a previous history of it. How ever there is no direct correlation between HCG drops and development of uterine hyperplasia.
Other risk factors include:
- Exogenous oestrogen use (without cyclical progesterone)
- Oestrogen-secreting ovarian tumour
-
Tamoxifen use; it has an anti-oestrogen effect on the breast, but a pro-oestrogen effect on the
uterus and bones
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Hereditary non-polyposis colorectal carcinoma
- Obesity combined with diabetes
I suppose you were on HCG drops because you wanted to loose weight which implies that you were either
overweight or had obesity. Your doctor will also have to investigate other risk factors involved.
Accusing immediately HCG drops will be premature and so it will be best for your doctor to determine all your risk factors while trying to treat the hyperplasia again, should consider preventive measures by eliminating part or all of the risk factors.
The most definitive treatment to uterine hyperplasia is
hysterectomy. This should be discussed with your doctor about the risk and benefits of the surgical procedure.
Hope this helps
