i am 44. till now had very regular periods. very little sexual activity after 31 years. have one child aged 13. two cycles of prolonged periods for over 20 days with heavy bleeding. ultrasound shows cystic endometrial hyperplasia 19 mm thick and anechoic unilocular exhophytic paraovarian functional cyst in right ovary. and intramural hypoechoic uterine fibroid of 4.2 cm. what should i do?
Hi I think you can try some hormonal treatment like GnRH analogues or progestin or combination of oestrogen and progesterone. If it doesn't work, you can go for a surgery like myomectomy or hysterectomy if you don't want pregnancy. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding during periods. Hope it helps.
