Haemophilus Para Influenzae. Bacteria Not Responding To Antibiotics. Could It Cause Health Hazard?
Ive been diagnosed with haemophilus parainfluenzae this was done with a swab sample of my nose, also the bacteria was only responding to one type of antibiotic and that is cefuroxime . I took the antibiotics but did not finish treatment, could this bacteria pose to be a health hazard? Right now I have all the flu symptoms but after 3 days it feels more like a bronchial thing rather than just a flu.
Dear friend, welcome to HCM.
H. parainfluenzae is a respiratory pathogen and causes respiratory tract infections.
Cefuroxime is a good antibiotic and also as per sensitivity testing in your case.
You are advised to complete the prescribed course of it, as partial treatment could progress with worsening to pneumonia or development of bacterial resistance.
I hope this helps. if symptomns persist, you may get a Xray chest done.
I hope I answered your query and it helps.
take care.
Thanks.
