You would be better off using a antibiotic which is effective in beta-lactamase resistant infections,Amoxicillin-Clauvinic acid combination along with aminoglycosides and fourth generation antibiotics may help.Strict diabetes control is imperative, hospitalisation and use of intravenous drugs and cleaning and debridement and draining of the pus from the wound will help in recovery.Oral medicines will not be as effective as intravenous drugs.
Hello, It could really turn out to be dangerous situation for you. Uncontrolled sugar levels will not let your wound heal,no matter what antibiotic you take. You should consult a surgeon, get your wound properly debrided, get culture of pus from wound done and take proper antibiotic therapy according to the culture and control your blood sugar levels, preferably with injectable insulin, till your wound heals. You can switch back to oral antidiabetic drugs, once your wound heals completely. thanks
