Hand Slipped, Middle Finger Swollen Up And Painful. Is It A Ligament Or A Tendon Issue?

2 week ago I helped a guy lift his small fishing boat, as I gripped the side of the boat with my right hand my hand slipped and I heard and felt a pop in my middle finger and it immediately swelled up and it's painful at the joint where the middle finger meets the hand on the palm side, the swelling is still there(not as bad) but the pain is not getting better, is it a ligament or a tendon issue?

Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

This can be either a ligament or a bone issue. You should consult to your doctor & should have a x ray to rule out the problem. At present you should protect it by wearing a soft ace bandage.Taking a good analgesic will help in reliving your pain.

With best wishes.
