Hard And Swollen Preauricular Lymph Node. No Infection. Should I Be Worried?

What I believe to be my preauricular lymph node has been swollen and hard for about 3 months. When I first noticed it it was much larger than it is now; however, it seems as if it has stopped shrinking - it may have even gotten slightly bigger over the last couple of weeks. I was given antibiotics for something unrelated, and that didn't take care of it, so I don't think it is an infection. Is this something that should concern me?

hi,
thank you for your query

the causes of swelling of pre auricular lymph node are

1.Local infection of the eyes, ears orskin near the ears
2.Viral Conjunctivitis
3. T.B

if you dont have associated signs of fever, sore throat then chances are it is not due to infection.
but i would still suggest you to take a course of antibiotics as a precaution.
if it still persists you can have your GP check it out.

thank you ,
wishing you good health
