Could I please get another answer from someone on this, I have added info since the last answer to help with diagnosis.Hi, i was bit by a ratweiler 11 weeks ago on my left outer thigh. I still have the 2 puncture marks and in between them is a hard knot. It doesnt hurt badly when my leg is outstretched but to sit indian style it is painful. If I press on the knot at all it sends pain down the outside and inside of quads down to the sides of knee . If I do any walking or exercise it is very sore and painful.I had my sister who is a doctor of physical therapy feel the lump and she said it is defintely not a muscle knot. I did some research on myositis ossificans and it sound similiar what do you think?
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The knot you are feeling might be due to a chronic inflammation in that area. It will take around 8-10 weeks to dissolve. hot fomentation in the area will help in relieving the symptoms.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
