Hello there!
Thank you for asking.
IgA nephropathy is the benign disease and Only trouble we need to avoid is renal faailure. And that we can do if we try to achieve the Goal of management. they are
-Continuous monitoring of hematuria and proteins in urine. Goal is to keep them below 500mg/24 hours
- regular renal function assessments.
_management of Blood pressure to the range of 125/75-130/80mmhg with ACE inhibitors as they are renal friendly.
-
prednisone for 4- 6 months
-ARBs like valsartan etc can be used too if ACE inhibitors are not an option for cough or other symptoms.
-Fish Oil (omega 3 fatty acids ) to the extent of 12g/24 hours is helpful.
-Addition of Calcitriol (
Vitamin D3) helps saving the kidney.
-A low-antigen diet, which consists of restricting dietary gluten and avoiding meats and dairy products should be your preference.
-You can try immunosuppressants like
Cyclophosphamide (Neosar, Cytoxan) to save the kidneys.
Do as i told you to and your
microalbumin and
creatinine ration will reverse back. You need to reduce the protein loss other wise your kidneys will be fried.Stay in constant touch with your
nephrologist with weekly fooloow ups until your protein loss is minimized.
Hope i was of some help.
