Welcome to HCM.
Active treatment is always required during episodes.
Your doctor is on right way but according to me micronized dose of steroid is preferable by giving rotacap to avoid side effect of oral long time steroid therapy.
levosalbetol/beclomethason rotacaps is available.Inhaler is also helpful.
Avoid triggering factors like cold drinks, ice cream, chocolates, smoky, dusty area.
Multi vitamin,vitamin-c is useful to improve her general health.

the childhood asthma is normaly allergic and the medicines can contrl it not cure it
i think giving medicines for long will not be acceptable to you
normally these are food allergies according to my experience
get blood serum test for specific antibodies for wheat milk potato chana nuts rice and common food you take daily
withdraw those and you will definately get reduced symptomps and reduced medicines you are givin
