Has Diabetes. Prescribed Galvus Met. Side Effects?
Hello doctor! My husband is 34 yrs age. He has Dibetics since age of 30 yrs. Earlier his sugar level was ditected to 399 ... So he was put on insulin . But after 6 months Everything came in control & he was given Galvus met 50/500 mg ( morning evening). Is this medicine ok for him or has any side effects ? Plz kindly help

Hi neha ! Want to tell you diabetes is not a disease. Every cell need glucose for energy and their work. But some how body can't use it result in diabetes. take medicine as prescribe , do exercise, avoid potato, rice or starch rich diet. Take care of your legs. Avoid smoking.etc. And remember to check on regular basic, cause less glucose in body also a problem. Galvus met is ok to give. No such side effect. be fit .bye.

Galvus Met is a good medicine for Diabetes which can be prescribed to your husband. Only thing we need to worry about is his kidney functions. Metformin component of galvus met should not be taken if patient's creatinine is more than 1.5 mg/dl. So kindly get his kidney functions check and then discuss with your doctor
