Has Had ERCP, Removed Gallbladder, Has Pancreatitis, Rashes. Is This Serious?
My 9 year old son has had an ERCP and resulted in removing his galbladder. He also has pancrratitis his liapase was 14,989 its been one week since survey. He still has pancreatitis but has developed a hive rash atone his yummy and surgical sites. Why has this happened and can the rash be a serious problem, it has been 3 days of this itchy rash.
Hello: The passage of gallstones from the gallbladder can become blocked at the ampulla, causing an obstruction of the pancreatic duct, which causes acute pancreatitis. Gall stones may lead to itching when they cause obstruction of bile ducts which leads to increase of bile salts in the blood. It is not uncommon for patients to experience hives and itching with gallbladder disease. He should improve now that the gallbladder has been removed.
