Hashimoto's, Synthroid 150 Mcg, Biopsy Taken During Colonoscopy, Prescribed Asacol HD 800 Mg
I had hashimoto s disease and was perscribed 150mcg synthroid . It cleared up in about 2 months and I went back to 112 mcg synthroid. Now I have just had a colonoscopy . The report says; Moderately severe colitis 558.9 in the sigmoid rectosigmoid junction and descending colon. biopsy taken. I was perscribed asacol hd dr 800. What can i typically expect?
kasacol hd is mesalamine which is an immunomodulator used in treatment of IBS, ulcerative colitis etc to reduce the number of flare ups. but keeping in mind abut ur Hashimoto's I would feel that you would be suffering from Gluten related enteropathy which could also manifest like this. wheat and related products enhance this effect in GIT. try avoiding wheat and it products and c the difference. wait for the biopsy report. either wag just understand u have an underlying autoimmune disorder. Feel free to ask for further details but I too need more of ur bowel habits details to comment on this. take care.
