Have Acid Reflux, Taking Prevaci. Mild Pain In Throat, Vocal Cord Vibrate, Phlegm. Symptoms Of Throat Cancer?

I have Acid Reflux. I take 30mg's of Prevaci each night at bedtime. I don't smoke, drink or eat any spice or fruits.
I have raised my bed 5" and cut out fried foods. I was symptom free until lately.
I wake up with heart burn every morning now. I have mild pain in my throat when I speak, it feels like my vocal chords vibrate when I talk. Sometimes there's phlegm and sometimes not. I'm worried about developing throat cancer. Could these symptoms indicate something other than reflux?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms are related to acid reflux & is attributed to Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux.
Due to decreased tone of upper esophageal sphincter, the refluxed acid is causing irritation to the throat & vocal cords.
Along with Prevacid, you can also add Domperidone 10 mg twice a day(to be taken 30 min before meal)
If symptoms still persist, kindly consult a Gastroenterologist for proper clinical examination.
Investigation like upper GI endoscopy will be helpful.
Take care
