Have Angina, 2 Stents, On Antenanol, Asprin And Prevastatin. Have Reduced Sex Drive. Can I Stop Aspirin ?
I have Angina and 2 stents fitted my sex drive has gone down since 2004 im 63 years old and im on antenanol asprin and prevastatin my blood presure is checked regular and all is well is the antenanol the problem if so should i stop taking it as the asprin will keep the blood thin and not cause blood pressure
Hi, Welcome to HCM, After going through your history you have coronary artery disease and high blood pressure, after angioplasty there are 2 stents placed, I presume they are working fine. You have reduced sex drive that means having erectile dysfunction, partly it may be related to to Beta blockerAtenolol but it is necessary to continue beta blocker because of blood pressure and secondary prophylaxis. Please discuss with your Cardiologist then it can be substituted with another agent. Aspirin alone is not enough to keep blood pressure to desirable level so do not stop the drug. Good diet and regular physical exercise and supplementation of vitamins and micronutrients may help with advice of Cardiologist. Take care. Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
