Have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Shortness Of Breath, Have Cold, Fever, Coughing Up Green Mucus. Is It Pneumonia?

I am 62, have COPD and much shortness of breath much of the time. I got a cold about 10 days ago. Now I have a fever of 101,feel really rough, and have been coughing up what I consider large amounts of very thick , yellow to green junk, reminding me of pus. I am wondering if this could be pneumonia now. Also, my blood sugars are in the 200's and 300's. I am also diabetic.

Hello..
Thanks for using Health Care

I read your query and it seems that you are likely to suffer from pneumonia , I suggest you to do Imaging study to help in diagnosis and proper treatment.
Other possibilities are COPD associated with astma have symptoms of shortness of breath and fever with cough.
Antibiotics wont be helpful without sputum culture and sensitivity.
I advice you to consult a Specialist in Respiratory care to guide you in proper treatment to overcome COPD and shortness of breath.

I wish you a speedy recovery.
Take Care.
