Have A Boil Inside The Cartrilidge. Vanishes During Periods. Used Topical Cream, Boil Gone. Feel Pin Sticking. Treatment?
I had what felt like a boil inside the catrilidge of my right nostril for months at the lead up to my period. This would eventually go when my period began. There was nothing to see externally but it was very sore. Eventually I saw my doctor who diagnosed rosacea and give me topical cream. I was completely unconvinced that this was in fact the problem but I tried the cream which irritated the skin and made it red and flaky on the outside. The doctor then have me a two month course of Oxytetracycline. The list of potential side effects horrify me, including discolouring of the teeth, and I don't want to take them. Since using the cream I have not had the "boil" symptoms but a feeling that there is a pin sticking into the catrilage, especially when I wrinkle my nose and a red mark on the outside. Do you know what this could be?
Hello, Thanks for the query. Rosacea although related to hormonal imbalance but doesnot present only with cartilage involvement only. There must be skin involvement. According to me it is just an inflammatory reaction. I dont think there is any association with menses.
