Have A Extra Growth Like Appearance Behind The Knee Cap Which Is Painful. No Test Or Medication Till Now. What Can This Be?
Behind my knee cap I feel something pop everytime I pick up my foot and bend it like if I were stepping over something, It's my left leg, I've never had any pain there before but a couple weeks ago I was at cheer and my ankle went one way and my knee went the other, only then did my knee start to pop only this time it was actually on my knee cap it didn't hurt that bad but now it's really hurting...is it related and why do you think it's popping? Thanks, Haley

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Your symptoms are suggestive of enlarged synovial bursa( fluid collection behind knee cap ). Consult a orthopedic surgeon for examination of knee, As you have mentioned about injury to knee joint, there are possibilities of injury to ligaments resulting in reduced support to joint. You may need to get ultrasound of knee joint for management. Ligament injury needs to be corrected.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
