Have A Large Painful Red Lump On My Back Which Looks Like A Cyst Been Infected Internally
I have a large lump on my back underneath my skin about 2" square that has developed over the last week. It is relatively flat on top, only slightly red but very painful. I have had a re-occurring pimple on one side of it although not sure this is related. Feels like a cyst or pimple that has infected internally?
I would like to keep a possibility of Infected sebaceous cyst judging from the fact that you had a recurring pimple on one side of it and now that area is red , swollen and painful.
If i was your treating doctor i would have asked you to take an oral antibiotic (penicillin group) for a week so as to resolve the infection.
Once that infection is cured the cyst can be surgically removed which will prevent any further chances of bacterial infection.
take care regards
