Hello and welcome to HCM,
A lump on the lower side of the face and in the neck region can be due to multiple causes.
It can be due to lymph node enlargement, a mass arising from the oral cavity,
soft tissue swelling, bony swelling, etc.
Infections can cause lymph node enlargement.
It appears that the CT scan report revealed some nasal mass so that a nasal culture was advises.
Augmentin prescription by your doctor suggests that the there is evidence of infectious etiology.
Lump of this type is quite common and if the lump is due to an infectious cause there is nothing to worry.
Appropriate dosage of antibiotic taken at right time will clear away the infection.
What is the site of surgery that you had two months ago?
Infections in the post-operative period are common.
They are controlled by an antibiotic cover.
However a history of post-operative infection does not predispose to further infections.
There are certain diseases which weaken the immune system of an individual, eg
diabetes mellitus,
tuberculosis, patients on
steroids, etc.
If the lump persists after the course of antibiotic, you need to consult your doctor for further investigations like fine needle aspiration cytology.
Thanks and take care
