Have A Sore Throat. Taking BP Tablets, Doycline. Was That Caused By The Tablets?

I took two tablets the other night and woke up in the night with a sore throat and it hasn't gone away. It's scared me yesterday, I almost choked on brown rice as I couldn't swallow properly. Was that caused by the tablets, one was BP tablets and one was doxycline. The pains comes on and off, its like having a colic in my throat, not sure if that is the right explaination. Thank you

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello Friend
Welcome to H.C.M
friend it seems that your are having acute infection in throat, it should not be due to anti hypertensive drugs. Doxycycline is a antibiotic which is ineffective for present resistant infection. I would suggest you to start broad spectrum antibiotic for one week and analgesics for two to three days.
But still I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed. Please don’t hesitate to consult and ask for any more query. i will be pleased to answer.
With best wishes for a speedy cure
Yours sincerely
