Have An Expired Implant In The Arm. Have Shooting Pain, Breast. Feel Tired, Sick. Problem Due To Implant?

My implant expired 5 months ago and is still in my arm Ive been Experiancing shooting pain up arm into shoulder/breast, also been feeling very run down emotional tired and sick, could it be the implant causing this, could I be getting a infection in my arm due to the shooting pain and am I still protected against pregnancy?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

After reaching the expiry date the implant may not help in preventing the pregnancy.
It is not good to keep the implant which crossed the expiry date.
Pain etc. could be due to that and withdrawal effect may be causing some other symptoms.
So you better consult gynecologist once and get the implant removed.
Then rule out pregnancy once.
After that you can go for some contraceptive method again.
