Have Arthritis, Put On Morphine And Paracetamol. Stomach Is Affected, Taking Omeprazole. Taking Fentanyl Patches. Advise?

What is fentanyl 12mg patch used for? I have arthritis and my doctor has put me on prolonged release morphine tablets, 25mg in the morning and 25mg in the evening 12 hours apart, in between oral morphine and paresetamol when required I find this is affecting my tummy even though I am taking omeprazole, do you think I would benefit from fentanyl patches rather then what am taking at th moment, and what is the difference please?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain killers that you are taking for arthritic pain relief will cause the gastric irritation. To minimize the side effects it is best to take the pain medications after the meals.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
