I'm 52 years old and I have Asthma. I've had several episodes where I feel light headed or couldn't breathe in the last couple of months. Today, I worked out kind on the elliptical at our company gym. Towards the end of my 30 minute workout I felt pressure in the right side of my head and felt like I was going to pass out. I felt dizzy and confused for about 2 hours afterwards.

Hi This may be due to decreased oxygen supply/glucose to the brain. The reason may be due to asthma or due to anemia or hypoglycemia. During work out due to muscular activity more amount of blood will be supplied to the muscles and more of glucose is utilized. Hence the brain will get less amount of glucose or oxygen supply in asthma or anemia.
Several episodes of breathlessness suggests you are not completely controlled of asthma. Kindly write the drugs and dosage you are taking now for controlling asthma. This needs to be optimized for you. Before doing any exercise you should take a puff of bronchodilator inhaler (Like salbutamol). This will prevent any problem due to asthma.
Get done complete haemogram, blood sugar level once to rule out anemia and hypo/hyperglycemia.
Hope this helps.
Regards
