Have Autoimmune Thyroid Disease. Abnormal Thyroid Peroxidase Level. Meaning?

hi, I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease about 2 years ago. I have since been better. My blood tests for the last 1-1/2 years have been good. But I recently had my blood work done and my thyroglobulin AB came out at 22 AND MY THYROID PEROXIDASE AB came back at 113. What does this exactly mean? what factors can effect the increase besides pregnancy?

Hello,
What exactly causes the production of auto antibodies is not exactly known but the theory suggests that besides pregnancy severe stress and a strong family history are the biggest risk factors for causing auto immune thyroid disease.
If your close relative is suffering from autoimmune thyroid disease, then you are 5-10 times more likely to get it as compared to the average normal person.
You are having slightly high levels of thyroid antibodies and the treament depends upon your symptoms. If you are symptomless, then no need to start the treatment and just a periodic check up is required.
Thanks
