Hi Bairddiane,
Thanks for writing your query.

It will be helpful if you give more information about :-
1. Your age.
2. Type of work you do.
3. Any history of injury on neck?

After reading your post, it seems that you are having pain due to cervical spondylosis.

You can take pain killer like Ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals along with a muscle relaxant like chloraxazone and an antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg.

Physiotherapy is useful in such cases.
Use of soft cervical collar is also beneficial.

Avoid very thick pillow.
Donot work on computers for long.

Breathing problem while climbing stairs can be due to some cardiac involvement.
You should get following investigations done :-
1. MRI head and neck.
2. ECG.
3. Lipid Profile.
4. Hemoglobin level.
5. Blood sugar.

If the problem persists, get yourself examined clinically and take any medicine under medical supervision only.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
