Have Bad Allergic Reaction To A Dye. On Chlorphenamine. Swelling, Weeping Have Subsided. Can Hydrocortisone Be Used?
Hi. I never realised this was live! M question is this - I suffered a bad allergic reaction to a beard dye (i am a 37 year old male). I went to my GP 48 hours ago and was prescribe chlorphenamine 4mg which I've been taking every 4 hours for 2 days now. The medication has worked very well and the swelling and weeping I experienced has now subsided. What I would like to know is if I can use hydrocortisone now to encourage the dry / red / tight skin I now have?
Hello, Thanks for query to H.C.M. Forum. Since initially it was an allergic reaction to dye ,but it got secondary according to your query. Chlorpheniramine will act for a limit . Hydrocortisone is a steroid and the best medicine for acute attack ( as in your case). Also apply clotrimazole local application for quick relief. Good luck. Dr. het
