Have Been On ATT. Hard Patches On Legs, Thighs. Itching. Using R- Cinex. Allegra Did Not Stop Scratching.
Sir, I have been on ATT for the last two months i.e. it ended on 30/10/13. Now I am on R-cinex for another 7 months. Meanwhile due to the side-effects of these TB medecines (R-cinex 600+300, Combutol 1000 and Pzide 750), I am going through acute rashes and some hard patches have developped all over the body (legs, thigh and back especially). Coconut oil message and Allegra 180 didn't help. Please advise what to do as in remaining 7 months I will go mad scratching my body. Thanks and best regards.
If the patches and red in colour or violacoeus then most probably they are a part of rifampocin side effect. However there should also be a drop in the platelet count along with the rash. Another drug that can cause a rash is ethambutol and a very common one of the the lot. But as it has already been stopped I think the rash will automatically get better. It is best to see a chest physician who is treating you if the rash is still ongoing to be able to change and guide your treatment
