Have Bilateral Swollen Groin Nodes. Ultrasound Showed Nonmalignant Tendencies. Should Nodes Be Biopsied?

I had bilateral swollen groin nodes last December. Ultrasound said malignant an non malignant tendincies. So they removed the largest 3.2cm on right side. Came back benign. I had low grade fevers all year and my dr diagnosed with FOU. I have had a little pain in my left thigh when walking so I felt around and found 3 very hard non moveable nodes. Largest maybe 2cm They were never this hard before. Should I let my surgeon know an get them biopsied? What s the chance of one side being malignant after right side was benign? Thanks for your help. Can t afford to pay my 15% coinsurance if I don t have to!

Hi there,
Welcome to HCM.
Hard lymph nodes definitely need to be reported to your doctor. You suspect malignant change when the nodes increase in size, become hard and immovable. The right side nodes were diagnosed as benign almost 9 months back. I suggest you get in touch with your doctor and get those nodes tested as soon as possible.
Thanks
