Have Bleeding, Heavy Cramps. Started Taking Birth Control. Is It Related?

About a month ago I started taking birth control pills then stopped about 5 days later. A few days after that, I started bleeding not even two weeks after the period before that. Now, the past few days, I have been crying without control. Also, I think I started my period, however, it is very light with heavy cramps. What is wrong with me?

Hi,
You symptoms could be related to the abnormal hormonal withdrawal. If you have not been on any other form of contraception earlier and have been sexually active, the first cycle on oral pills needs additional protection. As you discontinued usage abruptly, your hormonal balance is disturbed; moreover, you should exclude pregnancy also as you are not completely protected. Please see a specialist for further management. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
