Have Blocked Ear And Increasing Hearing Loss. How To Get Cured?

Hi I have a blocked ear and increasing hearing loss . I have had hearing tests and been fitted with hearing aids which I have worn for about a year though they do nt make a huge difference. However I have always felt part at least of the problem for me was a blockage which frequent visits to the nurse/GP did nothing to help. At my last visit to the nurse she told me I did not have outer ear/ earwax blockage but she could tell I had fluid in my middle ear - which was the first time anyone had said that to me. Do you have any suggestions? Should I try one more visit to my GP. I have been looking at a device called an ear popper which is hugely expensive but is designed to help drain the middle ear (apparently). Would you recommend I dig (very) deep and try it? Marny

I have gone through your query regarding blockade in ear associated with hearing loss.

After considering your clinical history and observation of medical personals came in your contact , I am suspecting as there is some unusual in your middle ear.
Therefore I would like to advice these investigations -

1- Pure tone audiometry.

2- Impedance audiometry.

By these investigation one may find out the reason for blockade and hearing loss and that may manage accordingly.
