Have Brownish Discharge And Tender Nipples. No Period. Had Sex. HPT Negative. Cause?

Hi, my expected period was due on Feb. 24 on Feb. 25 I experienced about a quarter (coin) size amount of dark brown looked like dried blood on a pad. It only happened for about 5 mins. The next day Feb. 26 nothing was there only when I wiped there was some like pinkish and brownish discharge . I had unprotected sex on Feb. 10. I took a hot on March 1; it came back negative. My nipple are very very tender/sensitive. I m pretty regular on my cycles. & of seems like today I have become constipated. Just wondering what you think may be the cause of everything. I m a little worried.

Hello,
Thanks for using health care magic.
The description of the bleeding on the 25th of February, does not sound like menses. It appears more like an implantational bleeding which usually occurs around the time menses are expected. Tender and sensitive nipples, an unprotected sex fourteen days prior to expected date of menses are all factors in favor of a pregnancy.
Pregnancy test done very early is less sensitive and that done just after the expected date of menses is very sensitive but then not a 100 percent.
So, what i will advise you to do is to do serum test rather than the urine test for pregnancy now and if its negative, repeat in a weeks time and if still negative, pregnancy would must have been ruled out and in that case you will need to see a gynecologist for irregular menses.
Best regards and hope this helps you.

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

It seems to me that you have a probable miscarriage. PT carried at that period would not show positive. I suggest you do another pregnancy tests now to rule out possibility of pregnancy being the cause. Based on the fact that you had unprotected sex around the 10th Feb and you presented with bleeding with clots, tender nipples etc then there is a likelihood for a pregnancy.
Abnormal menstruation could be responsible due to hormonal imbalance or other causes.
You will require a gynobs to examine you and do you a pelvic scan.
Hope this helps

OBGYN Dr. Mrs Sumeet Baheti's  Response
Hello,
As you had unprotected sex around ovulation time, pregnancy needs to be ruled out.
The small amount of dark bleeding may well be due to implantation bleeding which is common around the time of expected date of period.
You should repeat urine pregnancy test using morning urine sample.
May have to do blood pregnancy hormone test that is b HCG and TVS USG depending on the test results.
Hope this helps.
