Have Bruise On Lower Left Leg, Redness Under Bruise. What Could Be This? Healing Period And Cure
I have a bruise/bump on my lower left leg when I bumped into an exercise machine at the gym. The area does not hurt but is somewhat black and blue with some redness underneath the bruise. Should this be a cause for concern? How long of a timeline before it heals? Could it be leg thrombosis? What can I do to speed the healing process?
Hello there! Thank you for asking. i read your query and i want you to know that it is the healing response of your lower left leg to the trauma. Inflammation will subside. take some pain killers and keep the bruise / wound clean and aseptic. Elevate your limb when resting to fasten healing. And no it is not leg thrombosis. You can see the near by GP to assess further. Leg wounds are a bit slow to heal but it will be fine eventually. had it been for no reason then it would have been worrisome but trauma pretty much explains it is innocuous and you need nothing to worry about. Just rest and take some good care. You will be fine eventually
Take care Regards Dr S Khan
