Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.
Dry
chapped lips, dark/
dry skin on face and pimples on the face are 2 completely different things.
-Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily which will keep your skin and lips hydrated from within.
-Take lot of green leafy vegetables and fruits and cut down on tea, coffee, caffeine etc.
-I would advice that you use a lip balm for your dry and chapped lips.
-Use a mild non-soap based cleanser on face like
cetaphil. Harsh cleansers or soaps extract moisture from the skin thus making them dry.
-For dry skin i would advice that you use a non-comedogenic moisturizer like cetaphil on an as required basis.
-Dark skin could be because of too much sun sun exposure. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen(preferably aquagel based which is non comedogenic)with coverage against both UVB and UVA throughout the day.
-I advice my patients to use an Azaleic acid based cream once or twice daily for acne. It is effective for both acne as well as post acne marks.
-I would advice that you see a
dermatologist who might feel the need to start an oral antibiotic for your acne e.g either doxycycline or
azithromycin.
-
Topical antibiotic gel like
clindamycin can be applied only over active acne over and above the sunscreen.
I would advice that you see a dermatologist who would chalk out the best solution for your skin problems.
take care
