Have Chemical Smell In Nose. Taking Crestor. Had Prostate Operation. Due To Anesthetic?
I have a strange plastic type chemical smell which seems to be coming from my nose. I don't feel it has anyrthing to do with lungs. The only medication I take is Crestor 20mg . I am a healthy 53 old male. I have had an anesthetic several times this year. The latest was for a prostate operation 7 weeks ago. Could this also be left over odours from the anesthetic? Thanks RT

Thanks for consulting. Health care magic.the smell from your nose may be due to atrophic rhinitis .it has no connection with anesthesia. You can continue the same medication crestor 20 mg.you can use sterile gauze soaked in saline for nasal pack. You have to consult an ENT surgeon and undergo surgery if this smell persists.
