Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Chest pain or discomfort can be related to any structure in the chest from the skin inwards.
Skin: persons with a history of skin rashes such as
shingles can experience
severe chest pain if the rash is in this area
Muscle and soft tissue- Any inflammation of the soft tissue can present with chest pain. This pain would usually be worse on movement in certain directions depending on which muscles are involved.
Ribs and Sternum: the sternum is the bone in the center of the chest to which the ribs attach. There can be inflammation at this joint. This pain is normally worse on movement as well.
Heart: this main is normally worse on activity when the heart works harder. This may be associated
shortness of breath and palpitations.
Lungs: infections, inflammation or blockage of blood vessels can affect the lungs and cause pain
Anxiety can also cause chest pain or tightness.
Esophagus- gastroesophageal reflux or spasm of the esophagus can cause pain.
If the pain seems cardiac , it may be best to be evaluated for this. This would involve examination and investigations such as ECG.
I hope this helps
